AutoDesk is giving away free copies of its student programs like AutoDesk Inventor. If you are a student you need to take a minute to register for this great offer! (visit Student Autodesk)
As soon as my month-long fight with my computer-box is over (Curse you SATA, Cheap Video Cards, and ECS Mobos), I plan on releasing some Inventor tutorials and because it is a $4000 program (Full Version) this maybe your only chance to grab a copy!
Please note that you must be a student with a college email address(I think they also allow Highschool emails). Also, you will need a decent video card for this program as it is a 3D modeling program. (64MB video card should be fine - but I suggest a 128MB.)
I am looking forward to the Tutorials on the program.. Hopefully it'll teach me Game animation.. Are there any programs you recommend for 3d Game designing?
Actually, while you might be able to make games with Autodesk Inventor - the program isn't built for that. ;)
If you want a free Graphics program I highly recommend Blender as it has a large community and free video tutorials! Or you can look into Maya (of which you can download a PLE version free) or 3D Studio Max.
You can see a list of all the programs under "3D Design" at Pixel2lIfe.
Working as electrical draftsman with
autoCAD. Like to learn Inventor.
The free version works great - but be aware a person cannot build assemblies and or automate assemblies with this version. You can build parts and like I said it works great.
Also, if you load an existing part into the program that was created on on older version it will change it to the recent version and you can't take it back to original version, so copy backup - copy. It did not take long loading it and you can either have a disc to sent to your home or business or down load it on line. Be sure to read some of the blogs before down loading it so uyou understand some of the issues that may arise while down loading it.
